8 Symptoms of Spring Allergies

While everyone in the Northern Hemisphere eagerly anticipates the coming of springtime, some of us also dread the approach of spring and all the growing things that come with it. Spring allergies certainly take the fun out of an otherwise idyllic season, and those that experience the symptoms of allergies know that these debilitating health issues are nothing to joke about. While others prance about and enjoy the return of sunshine and good times, those that suffer from spring allergies often have to stay inside and miss out on all the fun.

But by becoming aware of the signs and symptoms of spring allergies ahead of time, sufferers and their loved ones can prepare for the coming season and hopefully mitigate the worst problems associated with these allergic reactions. 1. Itchy Eyes

Itchy eyes are one of the most common and the most uncomfortable of all the symptoms of spring allergies. Caused by pollen or other allergens entering the eyes, the itchiness you feel almost begs you to give your eyes a good rub. But if you succumb to temptation and touch your eyes in any way, the itchiness only becomes worse and can even start to burn.

Eye drops can sometimes help when your eyes start to feel itchy, but the best thing to do is to wash your eyes with cold or lukewarm water. You don’t necessarily have to open your eyes as you wash them but do make sure that you allow the water to run over your eyes for at least 1-2 minutes. It can then also help to place a wet towel over your eyes as you recover and take a moment to relax in a cool and darkened room.
